I am getting back to playing in a live gig (Iron Maiden Tribute) after many years off doing career & famil.y I used to have a killer Fender P bass body w/emg's w / a jazz neck great sound great feel..I hope you all can advise how in the heck I can re-create that gem? Thoughts?

There are several P basses with J necks. Some are:
G&L SB-2 (check out the Tribute line for inexpensive but quality if you want to save some $).

Fender has a couple of models.

You could contact Warmoth and buy all the parts and put one together yourself.
