Hello, i have a strange problem on my bass :
when i slap, the percussion sounds too strong. i searched a lot in the net but i found no solution.
an example of random slap in my bass : test (http://www.maupassantage.net/essai.mp3)

my bass seems tuned up(strings , neck..) and all other sounds (except the thumb slap) sounds normally.

I don't really hear a "problem" in your slap. What you played was real staccato (short notes) so you will hear a lot of "attacks" since no notes are holding out before you slap the next one. Try letting the actual notes ring longer. If you still hear more percussion than tone you need to really focus your aim of the actual attack and also make sure you get in and out quickly. If you don't pull your thumb away from the string quickly you just get a percussive sound. Try playing a scale using just whole notes and really focus on the accuracy of your technique and getting the notes to sing....Hope this helps....
