im the dude who did the 'wood bridge tutorial', number one pro is cost. 4 dollars for a bridge is good. theres about 4 hours of work if you aint used to it. so I guess its worth it.

uh oh...can of worms...but wils, you got any input on using an abg style bridge vs. say a hipshot ?

well, I made a bridge for an old 4 string some time ago that was acrylized ebony with a corian saddle with nashville style stud supports (like those electric archtops that you can thumb adjust up or down). I didn't like it at all. That bass is currently dismanteled awaiting some ideas.

I have made floating wooden bridges a couple of times. This one is ebony and maple:

Also, I have never heard anyone complain about a Rob Allen bridge... those are wood with (I believe) bone saddle.

i like wooden bridges better but there not as good for slap its not as bright of a tone also most of the time they arent very adjustable, but i have seen fully adjustible carl thompson bridges. wooden bridges are a perfect match for a fretless. plus they look 10 times cooler!
