PLEASE! FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY!!!!!!!!!! cricketfever32 01-07-2008, 04:20 PM uh oh...can of worms...but wils, you got any input on using an abg style bridge vs. say a hipshot ? wilser 01-07-2008, 04:29 PM well, I made a bridge for an old 4 string some time ago that was acrylized ebony with a corian saddle with nashville style stud supports (like those electric archtops that you can thumb adjust up or down). I didn't like it at all. That bass is currently dismanteled awaiting some ideas. SDB Guitars 01-07-2008, 07:41 PM I have made floating wooden bridges a couple of times. This one is ebony and maple: http://sdbguitars.com/wood_bridge.jpg Also, I have never heard anyone complain about a Rob Allen bridge... those are wood with (I believe) bone saddle. ppk 01-07-2008, 08:59 PM i like wooden bridges better but there not as good for slap its not as bright of a tone also most of the time they arent very adjustable, but i have seen fully adjustible carl thompson bridges. wooden bridges are a perfect match for a fretless. plus they look 10 times cooler! |
