Hadrien Féraud has to be mentionned, 23 years old and playing with John Mclaughlin, Chick Corea, Bireli, etc.

Tal Wilkenfeld is also very good.

+1. That dude's sick. I think he's like 23 and his fingers are insane on the fretboard.

Michael "Atonal" Vick (no, not the football player), 28 years old, odd style, but has chops on both fretless bass and fretless guitar.

Well, what do you consider to be young? Oteil, has been around for along time and is probably close to 40 yrs old if not older.

The bassist from a local Punk band called A City Warning. He played some pretty technical lines that really added a lot to band.

Tim Ward from The Fall of Troy, through his late teens and early 20's he was playing bass for them. He had some really great bass lines.

Ben Allison - Ben Allison/Medicine Wheel/Man Size Safe
Jasper Hoiby - Phronesis
Amy Shook - FAB Trio
Scott Colley - Various

Though I'm an electric player, I love what these folks do on the DB. All young by jazz DB standards....
