This should be an easy song to learn but the recording is so bad it's hard to pick out the notes. I'll admit I don't have the greatest ear either..............Please help!

Does anyone already know this song or have any tricks on learning classic rockabilly songs that are poorly recorded?

Thanks!

Two things I do in this kind of situation:

1) If you can't hear the bass that well, I listen to what the rest of the band is doing. What chord are they playing, what the entire rhythm section is doing, what the bass (when it does poke through the mix) is implying. You can pick up some pretty decent clues that way.

2) Relax, and realize that if you can't hear the bassline note for note, probably no one else can either, and you're not gonna get any flack for doing what you do.

As long as it sounds good, that is.

Here's the song on YouTube. The audio isn't great but if you adjust the EQ the settings on your sound card the bass lines are easy to hear.
