Jealous much? :spit: "keep doing your thing dont let nobody tell you what and if they get in your face just be like YAAAAHH" -Souljah Boy, 2007 grace & groove 02-05-2008, 07:57 PM I don't really care whatever anybody does but I don't know, LEDs on your knobs that you can barely see and just waste batteries. Plus you have to route for the wires to power the LEDs. Fret dot LEDs are so much cooler looking! :p SDB Guitars 02-05-2008, 08:32 PM likely the led's are powered by watch batteries, so they don't have wiring... at least that would be my guess. As always, Roger, your work is amazing. :) T2W 02-05-2008, 08:52 PM My guess would also be watch batteries. I saw a little clothes pin ( is that how they're called? ) that you pin on your shirt, kinda like a name tag, it was about 1/8 thick and an inch wide by an inch high. It had about 10 leds in them. I went crazy. yep, I did. Even if some people find these knobs stupid (thanks for your input and positive comments) Im sure Alembic is able to get another 500$ by putting these on their basses instead of normal knobs. Some people like it simple, some people like all these decorative gimmicks. To each his own. Peace. Noaita 02-06-2008, 12:11 AM Watch batteries is the correct answer. The blue LED's require 2 batteries so we had to reconfigure the circuit. Thanks for the compliment, Shawn. Some people will like them, some will not. That's what keeps the world turning. IconBasser 02-06-2008, 12:14 AM TOTALLY AWSOME!!! Siegy 02-06-2008, 12:16 AM blue LED's are evil. :hiding: waseok 02-06-2008, 12:18 AM Very good idea, although im not sure that blue fits good Jonsbasses 02-06-2008, 12:56 AM I personally find that pretty sweet. I don't think I'd ever use those on one of my personal basses though. grace & groove 02-06-2008, 05:27 AM Watch batteries is the correct answer. The blue LED's require 2 batteries so we had to reconfigure the circuit. Thanks for the compliment, Shawn. Some people will like them, some will not. That's what keeps the world turning. Better idea then. :) How long do the LED's last and how hard is it to replace the batteries? asad137 02-06-2008, 07:58 AM How do you turn the LED's on and off? Asad Noaita 02-06-2008, 09:59 AM The cap acts as the switch in these. There are detents for the on and off positions. The cap spins completely off to replace the batteries which last quite a long time. Battery life depends on usage but we have had some last over a year. asad137 02-06-2008, 10:07 AM Very clever. Asad tbrannon 02-06-2008, 10:10 AM Very cool- billm 02-06-2008, 12:47 PM Interesting. Any way you could make the top of the knob with a translucent material so the whole knob would glow? SDB Guitars 02-06-2008, 12:54 PM Interesting. Any way you could make the top of the knob with a translucent material so the whole knob would glow? I'm sure that could be done easily enough (maybe a white or partially opaque plastic?)... you could also probably rig it so that you still had a "dot" position marker, using fiberoptic material to give you a bright "point" in the dimmer glowing top. Roger always amazes me with his great work. Rudyboy98 02-07-2008, 12:24 AM Looks cool on the knobs, but (as previously mentioned) LED side markers or inlays are a lot cooler to me! :) |
