It's probably a 2006 or 07. I got it new but I suspect it had been there awhile. Anyways, it's passive and I'd like to keep it that way so I guess the question is: Who makes really hot and or sweet passive pups ( 2 x soapbar humbuckers 1.5"W x 5 1/8" L)
that would be a "night and day difference" over the stock Peaveys in the NTB 5 Grinds? . I'm just thinking that with all the sweet woods this thing is made of (7 piece, yes I counted them many times, Mahogany with Maple "stringers" laminated neck) coupled with Imbuya (Brazilian Walnut) body wings. Very nice for the Price!:D My thought was that any weak link may just be in the pups. I mean it sounds sweet enough just as it is, great to play, but I'm inclined to think that the right perscription for the pups may really turn it into a total steroid opera hotty in a Warwick bathing suit! Okay, so that really didn't make too much sense, but I think you get the pic. Has anyone experimented along these lines? If it made sense to go Active, would the stuff even fit? Just asking any fellow Peavey fans or Luth's with experience out there.:help:

Thanks again

Rodent,

Thanks. I already posted it there as well as under "Basses" but thought here may be a good place as well (i.e. professional experienced Builders and Modification Craft folks who may know best how to get the best tones out of the certain wood and pup combinations). If it's really not a good or prefered place to post it, I will repectfully delete the post from here. Not a problem at all. I don't wish to create any extra "off-topic" reading for anyone, I wasn't sure.

Please let me know,

Thanks again,
