Alright, im planning on putting leds inside the fingerboard of my jazz bass, it currently has pearl blocks, and white plastic binding, and i want to put led front and side dot markers, i recall i've seen someone do it, but i cant seem to find it again, any help will be greatly appreciated. I have experience with removing and attaching fingerboards, so thats not a problem for me

We would need more info, one: is it neck through or set? If so it will be harder to do than if its Bolt-on. For a jazz, I would figure its bolt-on. take this in consideration cuz you gotta pass the wire somewhere. You obviously need LEDs, resistances (ohms depend on how many leds you have and the brightness desired) and a basic knowledge of Ohms law. Mind you someone here can help you with that, I dont remember exactly how it works, I just know now that I must use 1.8v leds at 20mA with 610kO resistances. Thats for side dots only (10 leds), I would guess that for 20 leds, for side and top, you must use something like 250-300kO resistances. Like I said, someone here can surely help you out with that. If you can manage to work from the underside of the fretboard it would ease things out a bit for you, you wont have to redo the whole fret job. As for routing everything for the wires, go at it with a dremel, it doesnt need to be a nice job, since it wont show, just as long as you dont go too deep. I strongly recommend you plug the system in parallel, that way if one led messes up, youll have only one that wont work, as opposed to plugging it in serie, in this case all leds wouldnt work. Is your bass fretless? that would help. do you want the whole block inlay to light up? also, you should isolate the neg. and pos. wires in two seperate channels to avoid any shorts. Wish you luck. Peace
