Hi,
I wonder if any of you guys have tried out these method books by Dr Morton, and if so, what do you think of them.

http://www.asodb.com/tech1/tech1.html

Just would like something to supplement Simandl. They DO look a littly kitschy but content might be good?

Thanks....

While I can't vouch for any of his other books, the Torturous Exercises is, indeed, torturous. Torturous, but useful. They not only help your stamina, they fine tune your small-interval intonation (an often overlooked problem in the DB world, as we tend to prioritize long shifts and large intervals).

Regards,

Dave

thanks for the reply! I was considering buying the whole bunch - the concepts and ideas book for myself and the others for my school's music library...
