Dear Patrick

Thanks for the reply!!! I got some illumination out of it. I'm looking into great orchestral instruments- I'm wondering what you
might consider good for auditions?
- What do you think of a Prescot- if the string length were reasonable.
- would you think a contemporary bass to be "Louder"?

-what would be a great auditioning bass?

Sorry for pestering you with these questions!! I in a bit of a sound crisis here!!! And I believe you hit the nail on the head in your reply.

thanks !!! KSpain

Yes, many Prescotts are nice. But any bass needs to "blow you away!" You have to fall in love with it. There are too many basses out there that sound good up close and are almost silent at 5 meters. Be good to yourself and the bass will be good to you!
Good luck!
