I was wondering if there was a good cheap way of going out of my computer into my studio monitors. I know the computer (macbook pro) has a headphone jack. Is there anyway of going from that to getting two 1/4" jacks for the monitors to receive them? Im thinking mini mixer but i was wondering what else is out there. I just don't want to have to pack up my motu from my friends house everytime we finish recording since everything is already setup

Is it just for listening to the playback of finished songs?

If you plan on doing any mixing, you will need your motu as it's the soundcard essentially, not just for recording, but all mixing would be best performed on it.

If it is just for playing back music or whatnot, they yeah, you can just get a cable:

(the image isnt working, but basically its a 1/8 stereo socket on one end, that goes to two seperate wires each with a 1/4 mono jack, i used something similar, and the wires should be seperate from quite close to the 1/8 socket)
