Just out of curiosity, is there a way to split, oh, say, a laminated body blank without sawing it apart? It's glued together with original Titebond, which I know will dissolve in water and denatured alcohol. The maple laminates were cut (not by me) with the figure on the glue side, and I just now realized that. Normally, I'd be OK with shelving the blank for another project, but the walnut has this really nice diagonally curved grain that compliments the shape. It also has gaboon ebony laminates, which I'd rather not destroy, alter, or thin down.

I also have a neck blank that I'd like split apart for a similar reason -- found a gorgeous piece of birdseye maple I'd like to use, now that the blank's already glued, but it, too, has ebony lams. that I would REALLY like to keep without potentially ruining them.
