Hey all;
I was out of it for some time but started playing again and as motovated as can be.
My problem is that there are a lot of techniques Ive always wanted to learn or get better at but cant seem to find any good books or DVDs.
I did find one by Abraham Laboreal but even that was more for beginners.
I would like to find a good DVD that will help me develope my funk style,
One that will really help me with my fretless playing. and if there is such a thing one that will help me learn some really slick fussion riffs that I can expand on.
Must stuff out there is for day one beginners.
Can any of you suggest some good dvds that are for someone who has been playing for a while and knows his way around the bass already?
Please if so could you post some links where I might buy them.

Music123.com has some advanced instructional DVDs on their site. There are alot of beginner DVDs to weed through, but they do have some advanced ones that might be useful for your style of music.

Unfortunately most Instructional materials, especially for bass, are geared toward beginner, intermediate players. It's the largest "buying" demographic so that's usually the "why".

I am actually in the beginning stages of doing some books/DVDS for a publishing company that shall remain nameless at this point.
My goal, at least for the "slap" materials, is to cover all skill levels and I want to fill the void of materials that really address newer techniques/rhythms such as double thumbing, popping, slapping chords, linear slap, etc.

As for developing your funk style, I would transcribe bass parts from all the greats; Larry G, Louis J, etc and learn from the "masters"....nothing replaces this formula: Imitate, assimilate, and innovate......
