What do you use on a maple or bird's eye maple board to protect it from losing its color or turning grey? This is for a new finger board installation.

usually I finish off the fingerboard as the rest of the bass is getting sprayed. But you can put a few coats of wipe on poly (3-5) and it should not turn green ever.
