I am starting to try to transcribe songs and i find it hard to isolate the bass. I can hear it pretty good using some midi files that i found online. Any thoughts on the subject. Do you lose anything from taking this route.

depends on whether the file is accurate. i love midi, it also helps to import the files to guitar pro if you have it.

A lot of them I've found fit the changes but aren't that accurate. Still a decent place to start though.

Why would it matter? Imo it's less fun to play along with Midi files, but as long as it's the same notes it doesn't make a difference.

I have found that the MIDI files tend to be even less accurate than the bass tabs you find on line.
