Looking for recommendations for a vocal processor/eq for our PA rig. Basically we need a little reverb and some eq - and inexpensive would be nice. Any recommendations?

I'd get a TC Electronic M350 (about $200). It's very simple to use and has decent effects and delay. The Lexicon MX 200 is also a very nice unit with good sound for the same price. If you have more scratch, just move up a notch or two in those brands. In my live rig, I've been using either a Lexicon MPX-1 (recently reduced to $400) or TC Electronic M-One XL (also $400). The Lexicon MX 500 ($500) is another fine unit.

Whatever you buy, be sure to check Northern Sound and Light's (http://northernsound.net/) prices. You have to call them or e-mail them for prices. They will be considerably lower than anyone else (lower than the prices I listed).

+1 on the Lexicon MX-200.We've been using one for a while.Good unit and cheap.

Good luck finding an effects unit/EQ. You will probably need to buy seperate units.

We used to use one of the zoom rack units. Suprisingly good quality and very verstatile for the price. I think it was called the RFX2000. There was a cheaper non-programable one too (RFX1000) that would more than suit your needs, and even a smaller non-rack basic version.

Well, considering I'm the soundman (and bass player, and recording tech, and gofer, and...) that doesn't sound like any fun :)

Our current PA setup:

Mics: 2xSM-58
Mixer: Peavey MDIII
Reverb: Korg DRV1000
PowerAmp: Crown DC300A-II
Mains: Community XLT43

We do run instruments through the board, but only to feed IEMs. Only vocals (generally) go through the mains.

What would likely do you the most good is better vocal mics. The Heil PR22 seems to be what folks are raving about these days (or the PR35 if you have the bucks). (Even my OM7s, which IMO are much better than the 58s in every way, are very crappy sounding microphones.)
