I love owning a music store :)

I've been looking for a new on-stage monitor cabinet for myself. As I mentioned before, we don't use amps in my current band, everyone goes direct through pre-amps, Tonelabs, or whatever. I use an Alembic F-1X pre-amp.

The business end has been a typical JBL 1x15" monitor enclosure, and it just farts at me all night every night. It sounds like crap on stage, which makes me feel like I sound like crap out in the house (hopefully I don't, the mains are much nicer sounding). So I've been GAS'ing for a small (but great!) bass cab so I can stop sweating my tone (or lack thereof).

Jorg Schroeder approached me out of the blue about becoming a dealer, and his timing was perfect. Whenever my personal gear needs overlap an opportunity to expand my inventory, it's pretty much a done deal :bassist:

Cameron McLaughlin, the bass instructor here at Rocket Music, has been using Shroeder 1212 and 1210 cabs for several years now, and his live tone kills. And a good friend and customer (Steve McCartney... hi, Steve!) also uses a Schroeder cab and loves it. So that's two enthusiastic Schroeder users in a podunk little town like Blacksburg, VA where there's probably 10 bass players total who use that level of gear. That's pretty remarkable market penetration for a manufacturer like Schroeder.

So I've killed two birds with one stone. I've picked up a killer cab for my personal use, and now I'll have another cab line to offer you guys! Jorg makes all of his cabs to order, but he's fast. I just put my first order in yesterday, and I should see the cabs within 2-3 weeks.

Do any of you guys have experience with Schroeder cabs? I'd love to hear some real world feedback about these cabs in a live situation...

Hello Greg. Yes I really like my Schroeders. As many have said on various forums these things just really cut in the mix. I have a 1210L which handles most of my gigs, with a GBE600, even outdoor venues, 700 watts in a 40lb small box, ouch. I also have a mini 12 which I often use for small gigs, as well as practices, with a GK400RBIII. It is hard to believe the big sound from this very small box, this is 400 watts at 22lbs. I have received many compliments on my tone with both set ups. Many people on these forums say the bigger boxes are even better than the small ones so I really look forward to hearing those when Rocket gets them in stock. If you've been looking to get a Schroeder I doubt you can do better than dealing with Greg. Just read what others have said about his customer service and great deals. Steve McCartney.

Love my Schroeders, too!

Currently using a 1210R and a 21012R, and the horns have both been upgraded to the higher-wattage model. Rig is topped off with a Demeter HBP-1, QSC PLX2-1804, rack tuner, and an X2 wireless, all of which just happens to fit in the back of my VW Jetta.

The two cabs do indeed sound dramatically different, with the 21012 being more "traditional" and the 1210 having the Schroeder "mid-punch". Use one per channel on the QSC and I can balance the tone difference out just right for a great mix of stage cut and stage bloom.

I have also used just the 1210R with my iAmp800 as a small gig/practice rig and that works great, too! Cuts right thru the mix and doesn't overwhelm or blossom in small spaces too badly.

Glad to see Rocket Music pick up the Schroeder line. It's great stuff and Jorg is indeed a great guy to work with.

Hey, Steve - now I know your TalkBass name. There must be a story behind that, you'll have to explain it to me sometime. Thanks for the input!

DCR - I bet that rig sounds righteous. My first Schroeder order was limited to the smaller cabs (1212L was the biggest), but I'm jonesin' pretty bad for one of the larger ones... must... keep... wallet... closed...

Had a 1212R as well. Quite dark and "sub woofer-y" to my ears. Paired pretty good with the 1210R, too.

And I would have kept the 1212R until somebody made the mistake of offering to trade the 21012R straight-up for my 1212R. No-Brainer there:D:D:D
