Hi All,
I have been on the fence about this one but I am going to let it go after all....
This bass was custom built by John Buscarino when he had the Nova USA company before he started Buscarino Guitars.
He is one of the most coveted Arch Top Guitar Builders in the world and studied under Augustine LoPrinzi AND Robert Benedeto!
His Arch Tops start at $7000!
You can see more information about him here.....
http://www.buscarino.com
Here are the specs.....
*Big Leaf Quilt Maple body finished in Trans Amber Stain
*8 lbs 10 ounces
*Bocate Neck & Fingerboard
*22 fret lines
*1.5 inch nut width
*Slim Neck Profile(this reminds me a lot of the older Warwick basses)
*Black Hardware including Heavy Duty Bridge and Gotoh Mini Tuners
*Active EMG P & J Bass Pickups
*Controls are vol/vol/tone/tone
*Comes with a gig bag
This bass is in good condition but does have some dings, dents, swirls and scratches none of which affect playability.I also believe this bass was originally fretted and was probably de-fretted at some time.Additionally the finish on the neck has worn off almost completely on the back of the neck, but it makes for a super smooth and slick feel.
The truss rod works perfectly and the neck is in good shape.
Because these basses are incredibly rare you will probably never see many of them on the used market.
His solid body guitars sell for over $2000 used all the time
See the stellar reviews on Harmony Central to see what people have to say about his work....
