So I finally got a fretless and I do not want to use it on every song.....

I play at church and "need" my 5er most of the time....however, I would like to use my fretless for some songs...

also - I want "Total control" over what I do....the last time I used 2 basses, I used 2 differnet channels in the mixer board and this caused ALOT of issues with not having the correct bass turned up etc....

which is best to use on one channel, a simple A/B switch or some form of DI Box? I would probably like something not powered since the few times I used a powered DI, they sound engineers turned me too far down because the signal (pwoered DI and an active Pre-amp) was overpowering the board (not quite clipping but going WAY into the red)....

any suggestions!?
