SWR 750X + PEDAL
FOR SALE
(pictures at the bottom)
more pics - www.myspace.com/captainbass

It is with regret that I'm selling this amp head. It's in great condition, and sounds beautiful: the typical SWR sound - warm, defined bottom end, and plenty of top end 'zing'.

The cheapest internet price new is - £1,143.11 thomannmusic.com

Im looking for £600 for it plus £25 for any post charges occured unless collected
I may consider part/exchange for a decent 5 string bass, i have a 5 string musicman and need something similar as backup

CONDITION

It has been my main bass head for a couple of years now and served me very well, it still plays and sounds like it did the first day i bought it. There are a few scratches on the chassis where the amp has been taken in and out of racks and there are a couple of plastic volume nobs which have mysteriously disappeared. (one on the back and one on the front, as pictured)

I live in London UK but i'm willing to ship this item.

Either email me here
or here- andycfs@msn.com

THANKS FOR LOOKING,
ANDY

DESCRIPTION
The ultimate multi-purpose SWR bass amp, with crushing volume, two killer effects and 750 watts of pure SWR tone. The top-of-the-line X Series amp, the 750x comes equipped with the classic SWR tube preamp, but also contains two onboard effects: the Subwave, which produces clean, pure and accurate sub-octave effects; and Overdrive, which affects the preamp's 12AX7 tube to create overdrive that can be as subtle as a classic "flip-top" or as nasty as a half-stack running at 11. It's quickly becoming an "instant classic," and serves as the SWR amplifier of choice for many of today's professional rock bassists.

Features: 750 watts @ 4 ohms, classic SWR tube preamp with Aural Enhancer, Tube Overdrive, Subwave, studio-quality three-mode XLR out (direct, direct + EFX, line) with ground lift and level pad, three-band active EQ with variable midrange, pull turbo (ultra-low) and transparency (ultra-high) controls, variable limiter, side-chain effects loop with blend control, tuner send, stereo headphone out, speaker on/off switch, Speakon® and 1/4" speaker outputs. Dual footswitch for Overdrive and Subwave effects included.

19"W x 5.38"H x 15"D, 31 lbs.

Might I ask why you are selling this head?

Ive moved over to an Ampeg SVT 4 PRO now, which better suits my current band situation (metal).

Ive been running the SWR through an Ampeg 8'10 cab aswell so it hasn't done my SWR any favours.

I used to own a SWR Goliath 3 cab 4'10 and coupled with the 750X and my Warwick streamer stage 2 my sound was the tits! top end was amazing and was very satisfying and punchy, especially with slap.

So anyway I managed to exchange the SWR 4'10 cab for an Ampeg 8'10, i wasn't happy with the sound and knew it wasn't the right cab for the SWR. Borrowed my mates Ampeg SVT 4 PRO head one night and of course it sounded better with that cab.

So to cut a long story short it was cheaper for me (after owning the Ampeg 8'10 for 2 years) to buy an Ampeg head rather than sell the ampeg cab and get a SWR Megagoliath 8'10.

Phew :p
