Sometime when I play harmonics they are'nt loud enough. Any tips on getting a good sounding harmonic

mids.
turn up the treble if you want that bell ringing sound.

mess around with your pickups. many sound good with the bridge pickup going.

when you're playing, pluck directly above the pickup, and make sure you don't hold your left hand on the string after you've plucked it.

don't know if that works for everyone, but it sure as hell got me through portrait of tracy...

Bridge PU, new, bright strings, mids.

Beyond that, practice them and get a feel for where they are. Then you'll be able to pull them out on just about any bass. The conditions above just make it easier.

I use a compressor. It makes them jump out and ring on for ages, plus you don't need to alter your EQ too much. Another option would be an EQ pedal that you can switch on for harmonics (boost the mids).
