There is a french bass forum called Lignedebasse.com.
http://www.lignedebasse.com/portal.php
One of the feature is every months, theres a piece of music without bass and everyone is invited to add a bass line to it and share it with fellow bass players. I dont know how it would turn out here but its very civil and very informative there.
I think it would be cool to have this here.
What you guys think ??

I think that's possibly the worst thread title i've ever read... :)
anyway... it sounds like a good idea but I'd imagine it could get hijacked... many people here seem to like arguing about theoretical abstractions & nomenclature but don't appear to ever write or record any music
I'll throw my hat into the ring and say that i'll contribute a 'bassless' track or two for this endeavour... I'll also provide the web hosting for people's audio files if necessary
but, to be skeptical, there are a lot of armchair bass players who won't be interested

FWIW there is a "Suggestion Box" forum which is where this sort of thread belongs. Or if you hoped to get more input, you could put it in the "Misc" forum. I like the idea though!

not sure if that would follow through, but some kind of weekly piece of music in one way or another is a cool idea.

On another smaller site I tried getting guys to do something fun like "make a punk song" and only one guy really got into it...I've been on Ejamming and other collaboration sites for years and so far I've only had success a few times.
I like the idea a lot!
And thanks for the link I will give it a try

I think it's a great idea! Personally I could use it as I don't get the opportunity to do so very much.

don't just have the idea, act on it :). make it happen, i'm sure folks would dig participating.
I really like that idea.
And yeah, the subject line does sorta suck, but it got me to read the post.
