I've got a 2-way truss rod to install in a bass that I'm making. And I thought that I was sure that truss rod channels had to be curved to function properly. A friend told me that the 2 wat truss rods don't need a curved channel. Is this true?

This is true, a two way truss rod requires a flat channel directly under the fretboard, making it easier, IME, to install.

Thanks.

Now does this go directly onder the fretboard wood? or A little lower?

The trussrod can be put directly under the fretboard, that is the beauty of it.
