Blacksburg's annual "Steppin' Out" festival is coming up the first weekend in August. Blacksburg blocks off most of downtown & sets up several stages. The main one always has a fairly massive PA :bassist: In addition to tons of crafts & foods, they run music pretty much constantly all weekend.

I'll be playing with The Kind at Champs on Friday night, August 1, 10-2. I'll also be playing on the main stage on Saturday, August 2nd from 5-6 PM with Melissa Reaves (along with George Penn & Mike Kirby, once again).

It's a great weekend, a great time for families and friends of all ages to catch a ton of great music. Come on down!

Your business partner and great guitarist in his own right will also be playing with his honky-tonk band, 3 Minute Lovin', on the main stage on Friday at 7pm and at the Cellar on Saturday night. Come on out and hear both sides of Rocket Music.

Bummer - looks like George and I won't be playin' with Melissa on Saturday. She got a gig in Roanoke that evening that neither George nor I could make, so she found another bass player and drummer that can do both. Oh, well, ya'll should still check her out - what a voice!!!

Just a reminder - I'm playing tonight with The Kind at Champs in Blacksburg. We'll start around 10 PM, and if downtown's activity today is any indication - it should be a good crowd.

Also, I am unfortunately NOT playing tomorrow with Melissa at 5 on the main stage!
