First of all, thanks for all the great info presented on this site.

I need to replace the neck pickup in my MIM 5 string Jazz Deluxe. The pickup just stopped working. All wires check out OK. The pickup shows open circuit with an ohm meter. I was happy with the sound of the original pickup, so I really don't want to go aftermarket. My questions are:

- Can I order a stock replacement online? Several web searchs have turned up nothing.

- Is this a passive pickup with an active preamp or EQ, or is the pickup actually active?

- If the stock replacement is not readily available, what is a cost effective replacement that is similar to stock?
