What kind of pickup is this and what would a modern equivalent be? The bass (if you didn't read the thread title) is a Guild B301 from 1978. I'm not replacing this one (sounds stonking awesome), but I was thinking of putting one like it in a build later.

The sound of the pickup has been mistaken for a Rickenbacker if that helps.

I just tried to make a replacement of this one and had loads of trouble getting info on it. Hopefully another player with one of these instruments will be able to help you. I'm pretty sure that there is not a drop in copy, although I might be wrong. Hopefully someone will chime in with more ideas.

What I found was that it was a single coil, I didn't have the pick-up in hand so I'm not sure of the winds, dc resistance, or polarity (although as a single coil pick-up in a single pick-up bass, is doesn't really matter...)

Most likely the similar pick-up construction (rubberized barmagnet under squat coil and big pole pieces) is contributing to the "ric-ness") but as I'm said I'm shooting in the dark here, so more experienced players may be more in the know.
