VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Warwick SALE

RocketMusic
08-27-2008, 03:51 PM
I've got WAY too many Warwicks in stock at the moment, so I'm going to be liquidating at least 6 to 8 of them. Every Warwick that I have in stock (http://www.rocketmusic.net/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?search=action&category=WABA&keywords=all) is eligible for a SERIOUS discount, from the entry level Corvette Standard (http://www.rocketmusic.net/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=2388) on up to Streamer LX 2008 LTD (http://www.rocketmusic.net/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=2293).

This sale will run until I move at least 6 of these basses. Just PM me with the bass you're interested in, and I'll give you a killer quote. Ignore the price shown on my site, and also ignore my "best price" that is shown. I'll be beating that for the first 6-8 guys to come along with cash.

Come and get 'em :bassist:

The answer to your question is $1175 w/ free shipping!

Man, this one right here...

http://www.rocketmusic.net/images/2513.jpg

... between this and that L2500 you've got, I've got some serious GAS. That green with black hardware is KILLER.

RocketMusic

Sorry to do that to ya, Brian! Again :)

That green 5-er is just a little bit higher than the number I quoted Laredo above (SERIOUSLY).

Cool - now that I'm back, I'll be working this sale hard all week. This is a great time to get a new Warwick at a ridiculous price...

Hi, Greg,

Do you have anything other than $$'s in ash? I'm still looking for a light 'Wick.

RocketMusic
09-02-2008, 08:56 AM
Most of the ash Corvette $$ 4 strings run right at 8.25 lbs. The Turquoise Blue one that I have in stock is the lightest, and it weighs 7.8 lbs.

Everything else I have (non-Corv-$$) is even heavier. Bubinga and Ovangkol are even more dense/heavy.

I'll check w/ DBG today to see if they have anything that might fit the bill. Are you looking for a Corv $$ 4 string, or are you looking for some other model?

Cheers,
Greg

RocketMusic
09-02-2008, 06:01 PM
The Corvette Taranis, though still Ash-bodied, is apparently about a pound lighter than the ash $$.

http://www.warwickbass.com/basses/corvette_taranis.htm

With a simple nut change, it could be tuned E-G instead of B-D... let me know if you're interested, and I'll have DBG weigh a few basses.

Oh, man. That's one of the only two 'wicks that I don't really have any room to come off (my best price is the one shown when you add it to the cart - $2899). The Infinity SN 5 is the other one ($1999).

Both of those basses don't have minimum advertised prices on them, so I can publicly state my best price without being spanked... and those ones I've been dropping and dropping the price over the past few months trying to find the magic price that will move them... but at this point, I'm basically down to making no money on them :crying:

If knocking $50 more off either would get you excited, I'll do it... but I don't have room to knock off hundreds like I do on all the other basses.

Sorry!

RocketMusic

I should also mention that I have the new and exciting Hellborg amp system (http://www.warwick.de/Hellborg/) in stock, and I can offer a really great price on it. Please PM me for a quote!

RocketMusic

Monday morning bump! I've received lots of inquiries, and everyone seems really excited about these prices... but nobody has bitten yet. So, yes, you can be the first!!!

For whatever that's worth :)

RocketMusic
09-15-2008, 11:20 AM
Well, I guess I should say two have bitten, but they've ordered basses that I didn't have in stock... I'm REALLY trying to move some of the basses that I have on hand to free up some physical space in my store.

Please help!! :D

Oooooh - I just got a killer deal on some Warwick/RockCase road cases! They usually go for $172.95, but I'm going to throw them in for free (one per bass) while supplies last. I should have 6 or 7 of them to give away.

I'll ship the road case in lieu of the deluxe gig bag that comes standard, so you won't be getting both. Or I'd be happy to also give you the gig bag for free, but I'd have to charge you some shipping ($25 in the US?).

Here's a pic of the case:
http://www.rocketmusic.net/images/2045.jpg

I use one of these cases to haul my Thumb NT around. It's a terrific case, it really takes a beating well.

Back atcha, Wes. And we have a winner! The fretless green Corvette $$ says "Bye-bye, Rocket Music", and "Hello, Wes".

I just set it up, Wes, so it's playing like a charm. It sounds pretty awesome, too, I love the $$ tones.

So I have a Nirvana Black $$ 5 string. I absolutely love this bass. Considering adding a 4 banger. Can you PM the price on this one (http://www.rocketmusic.net/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=2554). Also could you tell me the price of a road case for the 5 banger vette $$?

RocketMusic
09-22-2008, 11:57 AM
The road cases are usually $160, but I'm giving them away with the next 6 Warwick basses that I move.

I've PM'd you my best Corv $$ 4 price. If you bought that bass (or any other 'wick), you'd get the one road case for free. If you wanted to add a second road case, I could do $125 shipped.

GREG!!!!

Got my bass. Wow. I'm gonna have a hard time going to work tomorrow....

I got the green $$ fretless. It is - in a word - amazing! The neck is smooth and fast, the action super low, and the green isn't near as ugly as I thought it would be! :)

Thanks for a great transaction guys! I highly recommend Rocket for any Warwick purchase - they really take care of the customer!

How much for a thumb 4 or 5

RocketMusic
09-26-2008, 01:21 AM
In stock, I've got this Thumb NT 4 (http://www.rocketmusic.net/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=2506)...

http://www.rocketmusic.net/images/2506.jpg

... and this Thumb BO 4 (http://www.rocketmusic.net/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=2436).
http://www.rocketmusic.net/images/2436.jpg

Their current internet prices are $4719 and $2799, respectively. But I can do a lot better than that. I've PM'd you my best price on these two.

If you're after a 5 or a 6, I'd have to order that and my price wouldn't be as attractive (beause I'd be ordering them at the newer, higher Warwick price).

Wow, when it rains it pours! Today we found homes for the 2008 LTD Streamer LX 5 String and the Hellborg amp system. That should be two incredibly satisfied customers!

Check out this 2008 LTD that is headed to MA:
http://www.rocketmusic.net/images/2293.jpg

I'm so sad to see that one go... it probably would have ended up in my collection if it hadn't sold soon.

So that's three free Warwick road cases that have been given away so far. I still have three more left to give away with the next three Warwick basses...

I still have this Honey SSI 5-String (http://www.rocketmusic.net/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=2680) in stock, and I can tell you my best price on this one since it was part of the Euro Schmuro promotion: $2599!!!

Well, it's here!!:hyper::bassist:

And it's freakin' amazing!! Actually feels lighter than my previous SS1's did, which isn't at all a bad thing.

More later, I've got a couple songs to run through and then off to rehearsal with it.

RocketMusic
10-16-2008, 05:04 PM
Congrats, Ryan! I was really sad to see that bass leave the store. It made the store look classier just by hanging on the wall :)

So today I bought a glorious SSII 4-string for our shop. DBG is getting to the end of their inventory, so it's getting easier for them to pick through the basses to find the great looking ones. James cherry picked a super one for me, and I can't wait for it to show up.

I also grabbed another 4 road cases to keep this sale going a bit longer. I'm almost down to where I want to be with today's sale of the burgundy red Corvette $$ 4. A few more Warwicks, and I'll be able to pickup another bass line... Roscoe... Spector... Ken Smith... Alembic... choices, choices, choices.

Ryan L.
10-16-2008, 05:09 PM
An SSII 4 string??

Why are you doing this to me???:help:

RocketMusic
10-16-2008, 10:20 PM
Well, the good news is that this SSII 4-string is another Euro-Schmuro bass, so I can be upfront in public about my best price. DBG hasn't given me my final price yet, but I think my DBG buddy is reducing what was already an awesome price even more. Good for me, good for you :)

It should arrive early next week, and you won't believe the price... I mean, it's certainly not pocket change, but relative to the current internet price ($5039) it's pretty incredible. It should come in comfortably under $3K ($2850?). That's almost half price, and I don't mean 50% off list price ($6299). It's almost 50% off the STREET price, and that includes a free road case, free shipping, etc.

Sorry to go into salesman mode... I usually try to avoid that :)

RocketMusic
10-16-2008, 10:58 PM
It's pretty slim pickin's at this point, mainly pricier basses (like the SSII on the way) and cosmetically challenged basses.

Never the less, I will check w/ DBG in the morning and get back to you! Since this is a backup for you, maybe you wouldn't mind a 3-piece body that wasn't matched perfectly or has some streaking or spotting in it?

Ryan L.
10-17-2008, 12:00 AM
Yeah, shoot me a PM with what they've got. And if they're willing to deal a little more on something that's maybe not quite perfect looking, as long as it plays and sounds good, it's fine by me.

Thanks!!

RocketMusic
10-27-2008, 01:59 PM

I've been putting a lot of energy into things other than moving more of these Warwicks... but that doesn't mean that I don't need to move some of these. I've got plenty of the free road cases left, and I'm still wheelin' and dealin'... RocketMusic
12-11-2008, 12:00 PM
Oh, Brian! I just oiled your fretboard and waxed the body... holy smokes, you're going to LOVE this bass. It just came alive with a little TLC.

Now I'm gonna set the action as low as it will go without a lot of buzz. My default setup is great for someone with a light touch. If you dig in more often than not, I should probably raise it a hair. Just say the word.

KsPiNeSh
12-11-2008, 12:38 PM
If it's the same type of setup as that G&L you sent me, go for it - that thing (still!) practically plays itself... like butta'. I've got an absolutely killer, slicing tone dialed into the GBE-1200 with my Corvette, so I'm really excited to see how that bad boy sounds.

If I may ask, did you just use lemon oil for the fretboard, or is there something in particular you use on the Warwicks?

RocketMusic
12-11-2008, 02:37 PM
Yep, just plain old lemon oil. I think it was Dunlop 65 brand, but whatever (Formby's, Dr. Stringfellow, etc.) will do.

The wax I use is the Warwick stuff, and I like to stick with that (for no particular reason). There will be a tin of the wax in with your bass. :)

Ryan L.
12-11-2008, 06:26 PM
When Greg says that he's going to set the action low, he means it!!! Mine came with possibly the best setup I've ever received a bass with.

RocketMusic
12-12-2008, 12:50 AM
Wow, and that's really saying something, isn't it Ryan? How many basses have you owned? :)

Hey, I really appreciate the compliment. I'm a bit of a speed freak myself, so I need low action. After 25 years of playing & setting up my own basses, I've learned most of the tricks of the trade. And I apply them to every bass I ship.

Ryan L.
12-12-2008, 01:57 AM
:oYeah, I've been through a few basses..................I like trying new stuff.:D

And the setup my SSI came with was right on par with the "Keith Roscoe Setup" that the Roscoe I bought brand new arrived with (the others were bought used).

RocketMusic
12-12-2008, 10:01 AM
Yeah, boy, Keth's setups sure are nice. The 35" scale really helps, too. I can get the action on a Roscoe crazy low thanks to the stiffer string tension. With a straight neck, it's practically impossible to make those things buzz.

The Roscoe B string is STILL blowing my mind, what a beautiful thing... I've got to own one personally at some point in the near future. Either the Amboyna or the Sapele top that I have on reserve might find it's way into my collection in '09... shhhh, don't tell the wife :)

I'm a sucker for Sapele. I made this amp cabinet back when I was trying to make a living building custom guitar cabs (word of advice - don't do that!!):

I am thoroughly and completely pleased. This thing looks just as good as I expected and sounds even better - I don't remember Thumbs having this much bass to them! The growl and Thumb tone are all there, but this thing flat-out rumbles. The neck (and setup!) is extremely playable; it reminds me a LOT of a J neck. It hangs perfectly as well... what else to say?

Just for kicks, here is a picture of my Rocket Music gear together, including the SKB case (but not the 1200 :)).

Between that rig, those two basses, and your Corvette... you should be able to get just about any bass tone you want!

And, yeah, the fact that you bought all but the head from Rocket Music? Well, that just warms the cockles of my heart. Who knew my little store in VA could serve as your local store in KS?

I say it all the time, but I'll say it again. God Bless the Internet! And thank YOU, Brian - I really appreciate your business. Merry Christmas!

Greg set me up with a killer rig! The $$ through that Schroeder is wicked. Gotta love some Rocket Music!

Hey, thanks Allen! I appreciate your biz, as always.

That deal was so hot... I think you left your coat here at the store :)

Now that my new rig has a gig under it's belt and some practice time, I must say I'm super-pleased with the Warwick Corvette $$ bass. In fact, the whole rig is killer - everyone is complimenting the sound, and how much better even "I sound" LOL! The STL6.0 has enough power to punch the Warwick's tone through the band, and that Schroeder is equally as loud as my 4x10 cab.

But the bass...man, the bass is eff-spuckin-tacular. If any of you have hemmed and hawed over jumping to a Warwick, check them out.

Cheers!
