Hello everybody, I'm looking to upgrade from a student DB I bought 5 years ago. My main qualm with this bass is that no matter what I do with it just produces just a straight bass tone, none of the swells or other natural sounds that make a DB unique over an electric (think Brian Bromberg). Also I know it's mostly in your hands but when I play other peoples basses I can get the tone I'm looking for quite easily.
So anywho, any advice on what type of bass to get. I'm looking at around 3 grand range. Or if I can get more double bassey tones from a setup what should I be asking for?
(Right now I have a Lemur Sunrise Bass (http://shop5.mailordercentral.com/lemurmusic/Lemur-Sunrise-Bass-SOLANA-Double-Bass-with-ASD-3_4-size/productinfo/BA109/) with a Fishman Full Circle pickup and neutral action.
