VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : KSM Foundation Bass Bridge-New lower pricing
KSM Guitars 10-29-2008, 10:10 AM Hello, my name is Kevin Moore. I would like to introduce you to a different concept of string to instrument contact. After years of repairing and building guitars, I have found that the bridge on electric musical instruments is the weak link. The strings carry the sound and vibration, but today's typical bridge separates the string from the instrument body except for very small contact areas. The perfect bridge would be a solid piece of material machined to exact height and intonation placement, but, would be one that could not be adjusted. Realizing that we as musicians do need adjustable bridges, I developed the Foundation™ system that utilizes the patented ramp concept. This bridge is fully adjustable for string height and intonation, but acts like one solid piece of material. This design allows full resonance with the guitar body. Check it out at www.ksmguitars.net and let me know what you think. Once you get to the website, click on the bridge link at the top. Or click on this link. http://www.ksmguitars.net/bridge.htm On this page near the bottom there is an interactive flash tutorial video that explains the specifics in construction and function.

bassteban 10-29-2008, 10:13 AM Looks good; I'm wishing it was quick-release.
shawn2000 10-29-2008, 01:28 PM I have one of the KSM Foundation bass bridges. Very solid build on these folks. Also, the sustain is different than what some of you may be accustomed to. This bridge seems to be resonating more in tune with the body of my instrument. This has made the mids very articulate. Harmonics pop out quite nicely as well. This bridge is great for a fretted instrument like mine as my tone seems to cut through the band a little easier now. It could also be beneficial for the fretless player looking for that mid range swell. Nice bridge!

fishhed 02-05-2009, 05:11 PM Hi there,
Interested in how you can change string spacing - seems like you are set at 18mm fixed now. I have a custom bass I am building but the pickup specs are for 19mm spacing at bridge.
Also wonder if you will do a gold 5 string model in the future.
Finally, a question about chords - is the unified structure of the bridge going to resonate with all strings at once or do they muddy the waters so to speak, unlike the one bridge per string approach.
Seems like a cool product.
Cheers,
Michael
Disco_Gee 06-07-2009, 09:04 PM I skimmed through this thread but couldn't find the answer... I assume from the pictures that this is not a drop in replacement for fender/squier basses?
bongomania 06-07-2009, 09:09 PM Interested if there are any plans for different string spacing options?
newbold 06-17-2009, 12:23 AM I'm still very curious about this bridge.
I play a 5 string MIM Standard JazzV
The hardware's chrome. I'd like to keep that look.
Am I in luck/will I be by 2010?
faniez 07-23-2009, 10:04 PM is a direct replacement for a fender jazz bass?
EquineGuest 08-19-2009, 07:41 PM I was able to get direct responses about this bridge by using this form to contact the mfg.
