1. Where should my thumb be playing a A string on a 4 string? cant get it comfortable
2. Cant get a loud noise out of my G string, its just quiet, any advice? Thanks Lotsa

1). If you're using the floating thumb technique then your thumb will rest on the E string when playing on the A string.
2). Check your action (how high the string is) and adjust the bridge saddle if neccessary. Also, check to make sure your pickup height is not uneven.

It has screws for adjusting the saddle height and positioning. If you don't see those or how to adjust them, then I'd strongly advise taking it in to a friendly shop where they will do the setup and show you what they're doing.

That is just begging for a DIRRRRRRRRRTEH response.
My advice is to pull it back farther so you get a really good *SNAP* sound and the sexy OH! response.

Assuming you are effective in putting equal force on all strings, I advise that you raise the pickup below the G string. Also, do you know the gauge (diameter) of your strings? How old are they?
Have you perhaps set the EQ of your amp so that the range of frequencies for the G string is attenuated or less boosted? I have found EQ can effect the G string's response. Too much bass or cutting mids may be an issue.
