Greetings TBers:
I have for sale a Dean Edge unlined 5 string fretless. I bought this bass from another TBer in August 2007. Here is the description from the original seller:
It's a cherryburst finish over a basswood body. Three-piece maple and walnut(?) neck. Unlined rosewood board. 9V Dean 2-way preamp and passive Dean soapbar p-ups. Currently strung with DR black beauties that have tons of life left in them and they're easy on the FB. MWAH for days and days and days. Tight defined low-B. Very light weight bass although I do not have a scale to weigh with at the moment. Balances well sitting and strapped. Comes with the original Dean hardshell case that's fitted for this bass (although any rounded bottom bass should fit well) which is also in good shape.
The original thread from when I bought it is here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352517
Here is commentary the previous owner made about this very bass in another thread:
Holy smoke does this thing sing! it plays better than some $2000+ instruments I've come across. The tone is more than usable... Punchy, articulate, deep. MWAH for days and days. It has an unbelievable B-string that is extremely tight and focused. It even looks a lot more expensive than it was.
Thread for above quote: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=308637
This bass is exactly the same as it was when I bought it more than a year ago. Plays great, sounds great, strings are DR black beauties. OHSC case included, see pictures. The 'new' of owning a 5 string fretless has worn off and I'm just not playing it any more.
For sale at the same price I paid for it: $275 shipped to the lower 48 states.
I am selling this with the intention of buying another 4x10 or 2x12 cabinet and will listen to trade offers to trade it instead of selling it. I would prefer a cabinet that is in the same price range or even is little bit above it, we can negotiate a cash difference either way if that is appropriate. Don't ask me to trade it for a beat up something-or-other that is half the value of the bass, in other words :)
Pics next post.
