I am a newbie to upright (just got one in September) and am doing a little research. I have done several searches here and I want some opinions about the following cabinets. I will probably be using an SWR SM400 and I haven't made a decided on a pickup yet.

The cabinets I was wondering about, and that are in my price range are the Schroeder Mini 10+ and the Acme LowB-1 Series II.

Any thoughts?

If you're looking for a 1x10 cab, the Euphonic Audio Wizzy 10 is also in this same price range. Do a search here and you'll find many positive comments on the Wizzy 10 not to mention several of the people here use them.

I don't know anything about the Schroeder Mini 10+, but I did own an Acme Low B1. Although the Acme is very high quality and has amazing low frequency response, in the real world the Wizzy 10 is a much more useful and practical speaker cabinet. For starters, the sensitivity rating of the Acme is about 10 dB lower than the Wizzy, which means you'd need 10 times more power with the Acme as you would with Wizzy to get the same volume levels. So if you need 100 watts for a certain volume level with the Wizzy, you'd need 1000 watts for the same level with the Acme Low B1.

Do they still make the Wizzy 10? It's not on the EA web siteYes, the Wizzy 10 is currently available and is one of EA's newer products. Their web site doesn't seem to have been updated in some time.

You can read a little bit more about the Wizzy 10 here (http://www.gollihurmusic.com/product/1600-EUPHONIC_AUDIO_WIZZY_10_SPEAKER_CABINET.html).
