the go go's

we got the beat

verse is in the key of A

what key is the chorus in?

if it stays in A, I get --- D G F C ---

which is -- 4-- flat 7--sharp 5-- sharp 2 ---

am I looking at that right?

NOW,

if the chorus is in the key of C

then it would be--- 2 - 5- 4-- 1---

hmmmmm

which thinking is correct?

thanks for the help

(the numbers are the scale intervals on a major scale...)

The song is A minor. The verse chugs on A with the bass playing that E G A G E A ostinato.

The chords for the chorus are D major, G major, F major and C major returning to A minor.

If I were to pick a key for the chorus I'd call it D major temporarily.

in D major, aren't the F and C both sharp?

see....that is where I get confused!

gonna try that E G A G E A ostinato......I dont think I am doing that.....( I gotta find out what ostinato is!.....)

found it .....

In music, an ostinato is a short pattern of notes which is repeated many times. The word "ostinato" is related to the word obstinate. It is like a musical idea which is being obstinate and will not go away.
