Here I was, bored at work. Decided to entretain myself I tried to play some air bass to the mental sound a new trashy (not like crappy, more like big hair head bang trashy) song the guys I play with composed 2 days ago. I quickly got frustraded because I couldn´t find the correct pitch for the notes, BUT THEN, I was struck by the genious idea of using my cell phone composer as a pitch pype!!!:eek:

Unfortunately, the battery died and I don´t have a charger in here...:spit:

Maybe this is probably in the wrong place, but I always wanted to get a pitch pipe (never actually got it because they don´t sell those arround here, and paying 15€ on transportation for a 7-8€ thing is just lame) and now I have one, I always did!:p

I know I sounded over enthusiastic in the heat of the moment, it has been a real pain in the ar*s to be at work without some kind of pitch reference for sorting things out. I guess I could use the computer, but this piece of crap computer sound card isn´t working.

PS: Yeah, I´ve got loads of free time at work, in case your wondering... lol

Dial tone is in the key of A

The modern dial tone varies between countries, being a "buzz" of two interfering tones (350 Hz and 440 Hz, as defined in the Precise Tone Plan) in the NANP (most of North America), and a constant single tone (425 Hz) in most of Europe.

A tuning fork is also useful.

I know a trumpet player who only uses a tuning fork and is always dead on intune.

Exactly.... esides there is a whole bunch of online tuners even if the computer sucks, you could get a reference.

BTW, can you play everything you can hear, imagine and fake on air bass?..if you can you are way better than me.

Just get yourself a harmonica, Hohner or something. It has 20 pitch pipes and doesn`t require electricity :D

Schlitz would be C (as in Cheap).
