All,

I'd like to setup a very small home studio. The setup I'm thinkign of is:

PJB Bass Buddy
Audio Interface (USB or Firewire, what's the benefit?)
My Windows XP laptop
Potentially a couple of monitors or just my headphones
a recording software (suggestions here?)

I want to be able:

Play along (e.g. the Bass buddy is suffcient for this)
Record at 2 tracks (e.g. bass + drum machine) at the time

The objective is to have good home recording quality to improve my technique and silent practicing. No professional need

Would you suggest me a good setup for this?

Thanks in advance, Paolo

Many audio interfaces come with their own software. I use a Mackie Tapco Link-USB. Very cheap at £60 approx and has Mackie's own Tracktion professional audio editing/mixing software. I use M-audio Studio Pro 3 monitors and a PJB as my bass pre. Simple. Affordable. Works. The Link USB is worth it's price for the software alone, the fact it has an audio interface is a real bonus.
