I have begun recording my practice time and have found it helpful. The recording itself is not necessarily the best, but I find it interesting to go back and listen to the tempo and rhythm, and fingerings, I glitched on.

I don't tend to record my solo practice time, but it only takes a couple clicks for me to be able to record.

On the other side, I *ALWAYS* record our band practice and then upload mp3s for the other bandmates to listen to. Its a fantastic tool. I don't do anything complex - for a long while I just used my laptops internal mic. Its good enough to pickup everything. Nowadays I just use a single mic into my mbox. I record with ye olde Audacity. The quality is plenty good. And you can listen back and go "Ok.. that really doesn't sound as good as we thought it did".. or "who the hell is playing bass? they gotta fire that guy!" :hiding:
