I did a quick search around the web and the only books I could find were geared towards guitar players. At the very least, this would give you the chord changes and keys of the songs, allowing you to work on the songs using your ear.

No bass books, as far as I can tell.

for the most part the bass just follows the guitar.

Yeah you get the guitar book to learn the chords and changes. After that you could just learn the little fills he does.

yeah, but longview is one of Mike Dirn'ts best pieces and that doesn't follow the guitar except for the chorus because there is no guitar except for the chorus and the ending.

so, i cant believe im saying this, but if you cant figure it out on your own, look at the tab, its easy. good luck :)

I have almost every Green Day bass tab, and what I don't have I can find. What do you need?
