First off, I want to thank Keith, Gard, and all of the crew for making this fine instrument...
I also want to thank Tony from Planet Bass...
Great guy to work with, great store, I highly recommend checking him out..

Specs:
SKB 5 string
Ash body
Spalted Maple top
Maple/Purpleheart/Maple neck with thin profile
Pau Ferro fb
Stock Bart pu's and pre.

I've had bass for about a month now... I tried to restrain myself.. I wanted to make sure that I had a good feel for the bass before I wrote this.
For the first couple of weeks, I think I looked at it as much as I played it! The attention to detail is just amazing. The fit is amazing. The finish is perfect...
As far as the playability goes, it took a couple jam sessions for it to start feeling right, just for the fact that what I was playing before was so different.
I've been playing a Warwick broad necked 5 string for the last 8 years, so I had a bit of muscle memory built up...

Right away, all of the fatigue that I had with the 'wick was gone.. Long story short, I bought that bass sight-unseen, something that I will never do again.
Anyhoo... I got a bit off track there. :)

With a month into it, I can't say enough how comfortable this bass is to play... I'm pulling off runs that I would never would have been able to do on the 'wick... I REALLY dig the thin profile...

The sound, clean, punchy, even, a GREAT growl when you dig in... Everything that I have wanted... My bandmates took notice right away... My guitar player mentioned that it makes his guitar sound better... Works for me! hehe

On all accounts, this bass has easily surpassed my thoughts of what it would be like when I ordered it...
I mentioned this to Gard already, but when I play this bass, I feel like they designed it with me in mind... It fits that good.

So what say you? Have I finally officially joined the ranks of Roscoeheaddom??? I promise I will get more!! :D

I plan on posting some vids on the ewetube soon...

Woo hoo! What a gorgeous instrument. Awesome choices all around, and I can only imagine the awesome sound. Good for you!

Playability? Isn't it just ridiculous. The musical version of a (fill in your favorite exotic sports car here). There is just nothing like a Roscoe.

Congrats to you! :hyper: :bassist:

Very nice!

I like the subtle but classy top. Sometimes less is more! ;)

I've never felt a neck that felt as good as a Roscoe.

They just play effortlessly.

Great looking instrument! Sorry to derail, but is the thin neck profile I could get done to my already made SKB 6?
