Well, actually, a 5 string version of them. Point being, I have 5 string double jazz PU bass. I want to replace the front pickup up a single coil P bass 5 string pick up- I like the thump that pick up gets. Or maybe my (non Fender) J bass pickups are a little muddy.. Or maybe it is my nostalgia, or something.

Could anyone offer their input on this? Has anyone else tried this, even with a 4 string bass?
