I want to add a set of jazz pickups to my P Bass make it a poormans Stu Hamm, Can I put in the Jazz pickups to my current P Bass vol and tone knobs ?

It depends on what you want to do.

I am assuming that by what you described, you want all 3 pickups together. This would drastically limit your ability to select pickups and blend them.

Did you want a 5 way switch or something?

I didnt think of a PU selector might be a good idea
even with a switch will it work ?

I might Wire two extra volume pots to the input if anything

I am not really sure what your asking about the volume and tone controls.
What are you trying to do exactly?

add two jazz pickups to my p bass like stu hamm's so I can get the best of both worlds on a single bass

You can do it, it's been done before (it's also been an obsession of mine for the same reasons). The simplest way to do it would be to wire all pickups through their own tone pots, join the leads in parallel and then run through a single tone pot and out to the jack.

However, there's a caveat: with a P-bass you won't get the same pickup positions as Stu Hamm. In fact, the neck J and the neck P on the Precisions and Jazzes overlap - and the position is what gives the pickups their tone. Stu Hamm started from a Jazz bass and has the middle-P specially wound in order to compensate for the fact the P pickup is moved towards the bridge.
