This is the nicest Fodera NYC I have ever laid my eyes on. Custom ordered with a figured spalted maple top and 24 fret neck. Ash body and 3 piece maple neck with 24 fret birds-eye board. Pope 2 band pre and Aero single coil pickups. Controls are stacked vol/tone, vol, treble and bass. In full disclosure mode..the bass has had a repair when it was brand new. To get the full story on the repair..see this thread:

I am still not totally sure I want to part with it because of the history I have behind it. But, thought I would throw it out there. The bass is in MINT condition and comes with a Fodera teardrop hard case which was also an upgrade from the standard NYC case.
$2400 shipped firm. Sorry, no trades on this one. PayPal e-check preferred
Could you describe the tone of this bass, say in comparison to a Monarch or Imperial? thanks

I can't say specfically on a Monarch or Imperial because I don't really have any experience with those. I can compare it to an Emperor since I have owned 2 of those. I did have an Emperor Elite that had an ash body and single coils. It sounds, feels and plays almost exactly how that bass did. The newest NYC bodies and necks, like this one. Are almost identical in feel and shape to the Emperor basses. I also had an Emperor Deluxe with a mahogany body and Duncan dual coils. The overall tone of that bass compared to this one is very similar. But, still somewhat different(warmer and more compressed) but most of that can be attributed to the differences in body woods, pickups etc. As noted before though, the feel and shape of the body and neck are almost totally identical. I hope that helps

I've seen some of them advertised on bass shop websites as 35". Not sure if they are typos or not.
Sweet bass, very tempting!

B to G, it has Fodera light nickels on it. I just put new strings on it last week but they are the same ones that ship on the bass.

Could definitely be..they have added a lot more options in the last year or so...Thus the reason this has a spalted maple top. :)

I thought all Foderas including the NYCs were 35" (at least the 5ers) and that looks like a beauty!

Actually, this is my 3rd Fodera...all of them have been 5 string 34" scale. When you pay that much for a bass..that will make it whatever you want! :)

I realized today that I have 2 more sets of Fodera strings. So, I can throw those in as well. They are regularly $30 a set...so, not a bad bonus.

I actually do have a 35" scale NYC Empire. It was the original "natural" one that was on the website. Most Versatile Bass I have played. Whoever buys this one, I'm sure will love it too. Good Luck.
