My bass is a 1945 Kay M-1, serial # 12059.

No neck issues. No top issues. No plys coming apart. Original yucky finish. Tailpiece, bridge, tuners, endpin, etc replaced by Hammond Ashley about 8 years ago. Numerous tune-ups since (tailpeice wire, etc). Will one day need a new fingerboard, its a little thin (for me at least).

Played constantly for 8 years. In great shape. Sounds like the thonky monster that it is. It always delivered big tone with no amp in all conditions.

Hear the bass at:

Come to Seattle and play it. I can drive it to selected PacNW destinations. If shipped, seller pays shipping, and I ship through Hammond Ashley.

$3000.

Please email me at mattiejw(at)earthlink(dot)net if interested.

Hammond-Ashley is a bass shop in Issaquah, WA. If the bass is to be shipped, I'll bring the bass to them and they will ship it, safely and properly. It usually costs just under $300.

I'm not in the market (I have too many basses as it is), but if I was I'd buy that beast in a heart beat. Sounds great man. Good luck selling.

Scottice, thanks for getting me to check out that video again. In that video, I'm playing my czech bass, which is for sale here:

not my Kay bass, which is for sale in this thread. My fault for not looking or listening closely. Either way, it doesn't change the fact that Paul Asaro is a MONSTER ON THE 88's.

I can't tell in that lighting but the fingerboard is ebony right? I know they went to rosewood on later models.
