Hi. I recently dropped a Lane Poor M-Style into my 4-string P-Bass. I am trying to wire it for bass coil / dual coil / treble coil with a DPDT (center off). The bass and treble coils work fine, but the center position (dual coil) is very thin and much quieter than the other positions. I think it might be because of the way I wire the center lug, twisting two leads on to one. Will this work or cause problems?

I can't open the file, so i have no idea whats going on, but did you try to invert the phase of one pickup to see if that gives a better sound?

The way the wires are twisted on should have no effect on the tone. If both coils function properly on their own, that tells me they are both working properly, and the problem is a function of the way they interact when wired together.
Try inverting the phase of one coil, and see if that takes care of the problem.

how do you invert the phase?

Switch the wires from one coil.
The black wire will go to the center. I can't tell which wire from the diagram, but either the red or white wire will go where the black wire was. Whichever one is from the same coil as the black wire.
