Hi all,

The jazz trio (guitar, db, drums) that I'm in will have its first ever wedding gig in a few months, so I like to know, from your experience, what tunes are good to play on that event. It doesn't necessarily have to be 100% jazz tunes, and I think alternating between swing, bossa, and whatever else will be good. Anyway, I'll just listen to what you DBers have to say.

Thanks!

Just to get things rolling:

Standards:
Misty
It Had to Be You
The Way You Look Tonight
Fly Me To the Moon
Satin Doll

Bossa:
Girl From Ipanema
Desifinado
So Nice (Summer Samba)
Linus and Lucy?

Pop:
You are the Sunshine of My Life (hey, it's in the real book).
Moondance
I Feel Good (I Got You)

Schlock:
Anniversary Waltz
Daddy's Little Girl

Use your imagination and good judgement. Your guitarist might play the s**t out of "Four on Six," but does the bride's mother really want to hear that? (and she will be listening and adding comments, trust me).

If the bride is a virgin: WHAT IS THIS THING CALLED LOVE ? becomes WHAT IS THIS THING CALLED, LOVE?
