this is a great-sounding and beautiful bass! 7/8 and loud. made in or around 1998, it was part of the first shipment to richard moffet in portland, oregon, and was chosen by portland bassist (and my former teacher) dan schulte as the pick of the litter. dan played it professionally for a few years and sold it to me in 2001. i've played it professionally since then, so it's quite played-in for a newer bass.
a good instrument for a university student or professional. its tone is very clear, defined, and rich. it has really helped me with my intonation. excellent for jazz and sounds very good arco as well. sounds great for double- and triple-stops. smokes everything i've played in the under-$10k price range.
42" string length
upper bout: 21 1/4"
lower bout: 27 1/4"
rib depth: 8 3/16" tapers to 6 1/2" at the neck block
table length: 45 3/4"
appraised by hammond ashley violins of issaquah, washington for $8,000 in 12/07.
$6,700 or best offer. includes mooradian padded bag and the afore-mentioned appraisal.
i'm in eugene, 2 hours south of portland and will be making trips to portland and seattle, so i could meet you in one of those places, or somewhere in between.
i have many pics that i can send you via email - just ask!
thanks,
