I Play my six string tuned a whole step down, which I like being able to match the lowest note on the piano. This done quite a bit by Gospel players for that low e flat b flat thing. My question is this...

1:I do not detune my other five strings down at all. I am curious if the going back and fourth between bassess that are tuned differently is really helpful to me or if I would be better off just detunning all of them down a whole step?

My biggest issue is I have been playing so long not detunning that it is taking me a bit to get used to the notes being in different places on the neck:hmm:

Anyone else here detune?

Notes are notes, it doesn't matter where they fall on the neck. Unless, of course, it screws up your tab reading.
