I have just been given an URB for my birthday but i'm not sure how to tune it. Can i tune it the same as an electric bass, and what notes do the strings need to be tuned to?? What is the best way for me to tune it??

Bass guitars are tuned the same as the Double Bass. You can tune using harmonics, but you may be best off, at this stage, picking up an inexpensive electronic tuner for double duty.

Also keep an eye on the position and angle of the bridge as you're tuning. If it starts to list towards the fingerboard, give it a few taps to return it to vertical.
