Modeled, as are all Arviis, on mid 19th century Italian Rocca, long in Boston Symphony. Large 3/4-small to 7/8 size-- smaller upper bout, large lower. 42" string length. Round back, violin corners. #17, made in 1985. Played daily since then. David Gage installed C-extension, modified recently with Rob Anzelloti capos. Recently set up with bridge and new ebony tail-piece by Dennis Roy. Original Flexocors, Mooradian cover.
A great, dark sounding, projecting example of Kai's work-- nicer wood and varnish than the earliest basses, and not as edgy sounding as most others.
Asking $18k.
