Got to do 3 contrasting jazz/Latin tunes, improvising through the changes. I am going to play DB on one tune and BG on two. They specify that the songs needn't be difficult/virtuosic, just need to be played very well and musically.
So far I am leaning towards St Thomas and Sir Duke (sight read not improvised) on BG and Anthropology on DB. I am thinking of soloing on all tunes except Sir Duke.
Any suggestions for better tunes? Are these good choices?

Those are good tunes, but there are certainly hundreds more. If whatever you are auditioning for is not specific, I would assume they also will allow you to be creative in your choices. Improvising through the changes means to me that they want to hear you grooving as a bass player in a rhythm section improvising basslines and improvising as a soloist. You mentioned you would be sight reading not improvising. That does not seem to meet the requirements they are asking based on what you wrote.

Hi Lynn,
It is so AWESOME to see you here! You may or may not remember me, but I (Kurt Morrow) was the driver (Bassist) who drove the equipment truck for IAJE the last few years of the conventions. I also used to have a Bass Shop in Kansas City. I stopped by UNT once a year ago or so after a Dallas Guitar Show and said hello to you and Fred. Anyway, I just registered as a new member. I will be checking in on your forum most definitely. BTW, if anyone is looking to sell a good upright at UNT, please let me know. I am looking for that Life partner in a Bass!
Thanks,
Kurt

I will be improvising my lines off chord charts for the jazz tunes and sight reading sir duke.
