Hi, Lynn!

I've been playing electric bass for about 6 years now, but I've always held a fascination for double bass. I want to take the plunge and buy myself a double bass and find a good teacher to learn jazz and classical from. I'm hoping I can eventually go to school with this, like I've always wanted (maybe even UNT?).

I was wondering, do you know of any resource or list of double bass teachers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? I've been reading that it's best to find a teacher to help you find a double bass, so I am hoping to find a teacher to at least stay in contact with who can help me pinpoint a good bass while I save up for the next few months.

I remember reading years ago that the UNT grad students give private lessons to undergrads and the public as part of their graduate curriculum. Am I imagining that? I figured finding a grad student as a teacher would be a great place to start for a double bass beginner like me.

Thanks in advance for any and all help you can give!
